I am so happy to be co-running this very special retreat with the wonderful Margaret Kearney, one of the founders of Anam Cara. This will be the fifth creative gathering at the Anam Cara Healing Well Garden, a magic sanctuary within the grounds, which is infused with the nurturing love and care of the previous women's gatherings. Together we will gently prepare the soil for sowing our sacred seeds 'within' and 'without'. Through quiet reflection, listening and stilling ourselves, we can open our hearts and remember the divine feminine, in her myriad forms. Mindful gardening and devotional contemplation will be part of our service and sharing, as well as communal cooking, gathering of herbs for teas, oil pulling and preparation of vegetable and fruit juices to cleanse and renew our physical bodies. We will also share in the ancient water purification and ritual of 'ablutions' and enjoy a cleansing sweat in the sauna bathhouse. As part of our sacred time together, we will also make time for creative expression, for example through writing, drawing, songs and dancing, and in the evenings we will have the opportunity to enjoy gentle yoga, guided relaxation and massage. The aim during this gathering is to bring hearts and hands together to co-create a place of belonging, peace and natural beauty, within and without! The retreat costs £155. Stillness in Movement' - a yoga and meditation retreat at Anam Cara, Inverness, 17th - 21st July 2019
I am delighted to be returning to magical Anam Cara next year to once again teach most of the sessions on this rejuvenating retreat, just outside Inverness. The centre is surrounded by pine forest and itself sits within seven acres of beautiful land to explore. Each day will include sitting meditations with experienced meditators from the Anam Cara community, and two yoga classes with myself (gentle flow in the morning and restorative in the evening), with other body movement, chanting and pranayama sessions led by me in between. Plus there will also be plenty of rest time each day to spend time connecting with the land and with yourself. Holistic treatments such as intuitive healing and sound healing will be available with community members throughout the week at a small extra cost, and there are plenty of opportunities to go out into the woods for wanders and swims in the outdoor lochen as part of this immersive experience. All elements of the daily schedule will be completely optional, providing you with an informal setting to retreat deeply inwards and reconnect with yourself at a much-needed soul level. The week's price is £295, which includes cosy accommodation in 'up-cycled' caravans and all meals, which will be wholesome and vegetarian, and as organic and locally sourced as possible (much of the veg comes from the veggie garden here). I would really love to share this special place with you and so do hope to see you there! For more information and to book, please head to the relevant workshop page at www.anamcara.org.
